K. B. Benfield & Co. was founded in 1933 when Ken Benfield, a carpenter, started in business. From small beginnings the company has grown as a general building contractor, house builder and property developer.

The group now comprises six companies, K. B. Benfield Group Holdings Ltd. and five wholly owned subsidiaries engaged in private house building, building contracting, property development and property investment.

Three of the Benfield Group operating companies, Benfield Homes Ltd, Benfield Construction Ltd and Fletcher Homes (Shropshire) Ltd are Chartered Building Companies, which means they are controlled by professionally qualified directors and have committed to operate in accordance with a strict Code of Conduct laid down by the Chartered Institute of Building.

All three companies have also achieved and maintain Investor in People status, a business improvement tool to encourage and develop employees for increased job satisfaction and develop pride in working for a successful organisation.

All companies in the group operate under the same Core Values (below) and we have a commitment to continual improvement in our quality and service to our customers, equal opportunities and corporate social responsibility.

Benfield Homes and Fletcher Homes (Shropshire) build a wide range of homes from one bedroom apartments to six bedroom detached homes. Our logos and strap lines "Benfield - Building Better Homes" and "Fletcher Family Homes" sum up our attitude to quality and care.

Benfield Construction Limited is our contracting division of the Benfield Group and was formed in 1992 to compliment the successful house building and property investment and developing arms.

The company has extensive industry experience of most sectors including housing, apartments, social housing, education (schools, nurseries and universities) health (clinics, surgeries and hospitals) care homes, retirement homes and villages, churches, commercial (offices and showrooms etc), and industrial.
